QGIS Zürich, developed by the QGIS Development Team, is a release of QGIS—the free, open-source, cross-platform Geographic Information System (GIS) for creating, editing, visualizing, analyzing, and publishing geospatial data. It supports a wide range of vector and raster formats and spatial databases (including GeoPackage, PostGIS, and SpatiaLite), and connects to web services such as WMS, WMTS, WFS, and WCS. QGIS Zürich offers advanced cartography with rule-based styling, rich symbology, and labeling, plus professional map layout and atlas generation. The integrated Processing toolbox provides hundreds of geoprocessing algorithms, drawing on QGIS and leading libraries like GDAL, GRASS GIS, and SAGA. Additional capabilities include 3D map views, georeferencing, topology and geometry validation, attribute editing with a powerful field calculator, and comprehensive coordinate reference system management. A robust plugin ecosystem and the PyQGIS Python API enable customization and workflow automation. QGIS Zürich runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and is released under the GNU General Public License.
